Pilot Boarding Design & Safety Features

Dedicated Pilot Boarding Platform: A fixed side-transfer platform, with dimensions and height customizable to suit port-specific pilot transfer procedures.

Continuous Fender System: Full-length fendering along the hull sides to reduce impact and abrasion during alongside operations. Fender type and arrangement can be tailored to project requirements.

Reinforced Bow & Side Shell: Local reinforcement in the bow and side-shell areas exposed to repeated contact during close-quarters manoeuvring and pilot transfer.

Non-Slip Deck & Handrails: Non-slip walking surfaces, handrails and clear access routes to support safe movement during boarding and disembarkation.

Deck Lighting & Safety Equipment: Marine searchlights, deck lighting and lifesaving appliances selected according to project requirements and applicable regulations.

Pilot boarding layout and structural reinforcement can be reviewed against your port's transfer procedures, operating conditions and existing GA drawings.

Hull Design & Propulsion

The 16.68 m pilot boat features a deep-V single-chine hull built from 5083-H116 marine-grade aluminum alloy, designed for port operations and pilot transfer. The baseline propulsion system consists of twin 550 hp inboard diesel engines with reduction gearboxes, shaft lines and fixed-pitch propellers.

Certification, Quality Control & Documentation

The 16.68 m pilot boat can be built and surveyed under CCS as the primary certification route. CE conformity assessment can be arranged separately for projects requiring EU compliance, subject to applicable requirements.

Quality Assurance & Inspection

Quality control is coordinated throughout the construction process, from material verification and hull fabrication to equipment installation and final testing. Inspections are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, applicable construction rules and agreed project requirements.

Key inspection and testing activities may include:

Material Verification: Review of material certificates and confirmation of aluminum alloy grades against approved specifications.

Welding Inspection: Verification of welding procedures and inspection of welded structures in accordance with applicable requirements. Non-destructive testing is conducted where required.

Construction Inspection: Checks on hull structure, dimensions and workmanship against approved drawings.

Equipment & System Checks: Verification of installed propulsion, navigation, electrical and safety equipment before delivery.

Final Testing & Sea Trials: Dock testing and sea trials to assess vessel performance and equipment operation against agreed acceptance criteria.

Factory visits, construction-stage inspections and witnessed sea trials can be arranged with the buyer or its nominated surveyor at mutually agreed checkpoints.

Certification & Technical Documentation

The documentation package is prepared according to the selected certification route and project scope, covering GA and structural drawings, the stability booklet and operational limits, material test reports (MTRs), welding procedures and inspection records, equipment certificates, dock test records and the sea trial report. The final class or conformity certificate is issued upon successful completion of the required surveys.
The shipyard states that it holds an ISO 9001 quality management system certificate and a CCS-approved aluminum welding qualification. Copies of valid certificates and relevant qualification documents can be provided for review upon formal project inquiry.
